Get to Know – Emily Saef

Saef in the Mansion.

Get to know Emily Saef! New to the Tilton community this year, Saef works in the Advancement Office as an Advancement Associate. From planning events that bring alumni together to crafting a monthly newsletter and designing engaging fundraising pages, she stays busy ensuring our alumni remain connected to Tilton. She is also a dorm parent in Moore and will takeover as Head Coach of Girls Varsity Lacrosse in the spring. Read along to find out more about her and her life:

Where are you from?

  • Technically I’m from Lexington, Massachusetts. I spent 12 years there and then lived in New York City, Pennsylvania, back to Bedford, Massachusetts, and then Boston most recently.

Where did you go to school and what did you major in?

  • I went to boarding school, Proctor, for all four years of high school. I went to college at Emmanuel, right in the heart of Boston, a five minute walk from Fenway. I actually spent my freshman year at St. Mike’s. I signed to play field hockey there and realized I really wanted to play lacrosse so I transferred to Emmanuel and I majored in Communications.

What hobbies do you enjoy?

  • Anything on the lake. Wakesurfing, fishing, and boating in general. Honestly, anything that will get me outside, I hate sitting still.

Can you describe your family and any pets you have?

  • I have a twin sister and an older brother. My parents live in Boston, my sister lives in New Jersey, and my brother lives in Salem, New Hampshire. And I have two dogs, two big labs and a cat that is 20 years old.

What’s your favorite place you have traveled?

  • That’s such a hard question. I feel like I have three. I would say number one would be Montana, Turks and Caicos, and Ireland.

Morning person or night owl?

  • Morning person.

What’s your idea of a perfect day?

  • Wake up, take the boat to get coffee, come back and go wakesurfing. Then come home, get some lunch and sit on the dock. Anchor at the sandbar, do a bonfire, and just hang out with friends.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Tilton?

  • The people. I feel like there’s just a good vibe on campus and good energy about everyone. Everyone’s willing to work and be a team player here.
