Students and faculty come together for meals and special occasions in the Masiello Dining Commons.

We’re a boarding school, so we know food is a big question for students and families alike. In partnership with SAGE Dining Services, we offer all-encompassing food options that make life away from home easy for our community members. Below, we answer some frequently asked questions about food at Tilton!

The dining hall is open everyday. Three meals are served every weekday and two meals on weekends. Saturdays and Sundays offer brunch and dinner. Students have plenty of time to enjoy their meal and chat with friends. The dining hall is open for over an hour for each meal so students can eat when it’s convenient for them. Breakfast also offers grab-and-go options. All meals are served buffet style, so students are free to go back for seconds.

Our dining hall offers many options and something for everyone. If the hot meal doesn’t interest a student that day, they can always hit the salad bar, deli station, or soup spot. We also have an assortment of teas, juices, coffee, and spa water.

SAGE Dining Services accommodates students with specific dietary needs including gluten-free, peanut-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian. Most hot meals include a vegan protein substitute, and there is always a gluten-free station separate from other foods.

Each meal includes a wide selection of options that match students nutritional needs. Hot meals are always equipped with carbohydrates, protein, and vegetables. Along with the salad bar and fruit readily available, students have every opportunity to make health-conscious choices.

Formal dinners always offer a fancier meal, as always, with multiple options. Every formal dinner, the dining hall is decorated and tables have tablecloths and fancy silverware.

Occasionally around major holidays, SAGE Dining Services puts together exquisitely prepared festive meals for the school.

Oftentimes during lunch and dinner SAGE offers a dessert like brownies, cupcakes, or cookies. Our dining hall also includes a soft serve ice cream machine that students are free to use whenever it’s open.
