Tilton’s approach to athletic development starts at the top, with Director of Athletics Tara Brisson. Here’s just a taste of why Tilton is the place for student-athletes who want to take their game to the next level.

Facilities

All-star athletes need state-of-the-art facilities and that’s what we offer here at the Tilton School. With an on-campus ice rink, double basketball courts, tennis courts, weight room, turf field, and extra grass fields down the road, our students have full access to resources that can help them reach their full athletic potential. Along with our weight room, we have the only full-time strength and conditioning coach among Lakes Region schools.

Competition

All Tilton teams compete in the NEPSAC (New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) with 169 schools across New England and surrounding areas. This high-level of competition gives our athletes the right environment to improve and push their athletic abilities to the fullest. The Tilton community shares the same love for competition as the students do. Our athletes find it difficult to not give it their all with the full support of their coaches and the enthusiastic backing of our Black and Gold fans at home games.

We consider athletics to be not just an extension, but an essential part of our teaching and learning at Tilton. Competition doesn’t just foster improvement, it cultivates the development of essential skills like communication, mindfulness, and play.

“The idea of participating in more than one sport or activity is at the core of my approach to strength and wellness. We help students develop a foundation of strength, conditioning, and proper movement.”
Nick Waring ’16
Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning

Coaching

At Tilton, coaches aren’t just invested in the success of their teams. As teachers, advisers, and dorm parents, they are involved in every aspect of life at Tilton, providing them the opportunity to get to know their players on a different level and build a program that supports its student-athletes every step of the way. At the same time, we know that students and families choose Tilton for access to coaching and development that helps them achieve their goals of playing in college or professionally. Our alums have reached all levels of NCAA athletics, achieved Gatorade Player of the Year honors, and even starred in the NBA. It all starts with a team of coaches who have an unrelenting commitment to helping our Rams be their best.

“If you’re an athlete and you want to get better, I’m not going to stop coaching you and I’m not going to stop pushing you until you get there.”
Tara Brisson
Director of Athletics
